BRIDPORT Leisure Centre will be reopening from next week.

The leisure centre will be reopening its doors to the public from Monday, April 12. It will be a phased reopening in line with government guidelines, with all sessions having to be pre-booked online.

The pool, fitness suite and other activities will be resuming.

60-minute lane swimming sessions can be pre-booked and family bubble swimming will also recommence from this date. Bubble swimming sessions can be booked up to eight days in advance by calling the leisure centre.

The Bridport Swim School programme will also be returning with the schedule remaining as originally detailed in December 2020. Membership payment will resume automatically unless the centre is informed otherwise.

75-minute fitness suite sessions will be available to pre-book, but fitness classes are not yet able to resume due to Covid restrictions. However, fitness classes for members will be available online and the team are looking into the feasibility of offering outdoor classes in the future.

Members can also book badminton and squash sessions.

Centre manager, William Thrower, said: "After a challenging three and a half months, we are very excited to reopen the leisure centre doors from Monday. We're looking forward to welcoming customers old and new back to the facility and we cannot wait to show you what improvements we have made during lockdown 3.0."

For the safety and protection of staff and customers all pre-existing hygiene and safety procedures remain in place.

The centre's 'wet side' changing facility is currently undergoing a revamp to allow the space to be better utilised. Until this has reopened, management have requested members arrive at the centre ‘activity ready' as there will be no lockers, access to showers or changing rooms.

Members are also asked to use the cleaning products provided to wipe down equipment before and after use.

Those who have an account with the leisure centre can book sessions online at www.bridportleisure.com
