NEW coronavirus cases are down to single figures for the first time in several months, according to latest figures.
Data released by the government shows six cases were confirmed in the county by 9am on Sunday, April 4.
Zero cases were reported in the Dorset Council area. The total number of coronavirus cases in this area remains at 11,752.
The BCP Council area recorded six new cases, which takes the total since the start of the pandemic to 25,180.
The six new cases are a decrease on the 15 cases reported across the county on Saturday, April 3.
It should be noted that numbers for cases and deaths over Easter will be affected by incomplete data plus a longer than usual lag in reporting.
In the seven days leading up to March 30, the latest rolling seven-day period, 83 cases were confirmed in Dorset Council area, giving a rolling infection rate of 21.9 per 100,000 people.
The rolling infection rate in the BCP Council area now stands at 22.3 per 100,000 with 88 cases confirmed in the seven-day period.
