BRIDPORT'S weekly 'garden glut' is asking residents to donate their surplus food items.

The usual variety of food, drink and ready meals - donated by local retailers, hospitality businesses and supermarkets - will be on offer. Alongside this, the glut's organisers are inviting residents to 'raid your larder' for items that they no longer need. For example - canned soup, beans, pasta or any fresh produce.

The weekly garden glut takes place at St Swithun's car park in North Allington between 10am and 1pm every Thursday.

If you are unable to deliver your surplus items and would like someone to collect please let us know by emailing admin@bridportfoodfestival.co.uk.

Over the Easter Holidays, a number of treats and items not usually available will be making appearances at the stall.

Today (April 1), an array of baby and toddler clothes and toys will be available, along with Easter treats baked by the the likes of the Colmers Women's Institute among others. The glut on Thursday, April 8 will feature takeaway vegetable lasagne - complete with a free recipe giveaway. Finally, on Thursday, April 15, the glut will host a Caribbean pop-up kitchen takeaway.
