DORSET Council is being asked to consider its own application to convert West Rivers House at West Allington from four flats into eight.

The three-storey property is to be used by the council for homeless people.

An application says that alterations will be made on the first and second floors to create self-contained units.

Other local planning applications include 22 homes on a two-hectare farmland site south of Fullers, Bridport Road, Broadwindsor.

The application, by C G Fry & Son, allows for 15 open market houses, ten 3-bed and four 4-bed, with seven homes two and three-bed homes listed as being for social, affordable or intermediate rent.

The site is expected to provide parking for more than 60 cars.

Comments already submitted include a neighbour who says that building on the site would spoil the views and affect wildlife, including bats which have been seen in the area.

Concerns have also been raised about the additional traffic the development will bring.
