FIREFIGHTERS were called to a fire caused by a clothes basket left on top of an oven.
Fire crews from Bridport and Crewkerne Fire Stations were called to a property fire in Broadwindsor near Beaminster on Tuesday, March 2 at 1.57pm.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the blaze had been extinguished by the property owner. The fire was deemed to be an accident.
A spokesman for Bridport Fire Station said: “One appliance from Bridport and one appliance from Crewkerne were mobilised to a property fire in Broadwindsor.
“The accidental fire was caused by a clothes basket being left on top of an oven. Thankfully the owner was in and managed to extinguish the fire.”
