ANOTHER town market has been cancelled after being unable to put on regular events since the start of the pandemic.
The organisers of the Bridport Artisan Market have announced that the market has been officially closed down indefinitely.
The market has not gone ahead regularly since the coronavirus pandemic began in March 2020.
Prior to the original lockdown restrictions, the event was routinely held on the forecourt at Bridport Arts Centre and gave residents the opportunity to browse and purchase a vast amount of local arts, crafts and produce.
The market's organisers have revealed that it will not be returning when lockdown restrictions are lifted. Neil Barnes and Julie Penney spoke of their sadness, but also relief, in officially bringing the five-year run of the market to a close.
They said: "It is tinged with a bit of sadness but also a fair amount of relief that we have decided to retire the Bridport Artisan Market forthwith.
"It's been a good run over the past five years, we've met some very creative and lovely people but as they say all good things must come to an end.
"We wish you all a safe, healthy and prosperous future and hope to bump into you at any future craft fairs or markets."
