NO patients with coronavirus have reported to have died in Dorset’s hospitals according to the latest figures.
Data released by NHS England on Sunday, February 28 shows there were no further deaths recorded in the county’s hospitals.
It is the first time since Monday, January 4 that no coronavirus related deaths have been reported across Dorset's hospitals.
It means since the start of the pandemic, the total number of deaths with coronavirus in Dorset hospitals remains at 836.
Figures issued on Saturday, February 27 confirmed one death within the University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust, which covers hospitals in Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch.
There have been 660 deaths in University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust, 105 in Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and 71 within the Dorset Healthcare Universities NHS Foundation Trust.
The news comes as more than 275,000 coronavirus vaccine doses have been administered across Dorset.
Professor Alastair Hutchison, chief medical officer at Dorset County Hospital previously noted that vulnerable people receiving at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine will lower the chances of them becoming seriously ill with coronavirus.
