HISTORY groups are continuing to run events and meetings online.
Meetings hosted by both the West Dorset Group of the Somerset and Dorset Family History Society (WDG) and the Bridport History Society will be going ahead over Zoom in the coming months.
The first of these meetings will be hosted by the Bridport History Society on Tuesday, March 9 and will look at the life and legacy of sculptor and printmaker Elisabeth Frink.
The WDG will also be holding a meeting next month, with its 'Slavery to the Workhouse' talk going ahead on Saturday, March 13.
Both are running monthly Zoom meetings for the foreseeable future. WDG will be hosting meetings on 'the Digby Girls' on Saturday, April 10 and the textile industry of the Somerset/Dorset border on Saturday, May 8.
The Bridport History Society will host a meeting on the history of Loders Court Estate from 1799 to 1916 on Tuesday, April 13, followed by another event on Tuesday, May 8, entitled 'Mr Loveless and pig: Vanishing Dorset’.
