ANOTHER six people with Covid-19 have died in Dorset hospitals.

Data released by NHS England on Wednesday, February 17, showed Dorset County Hospital confirmed one death on February 14.

Five deaths were reported by University Hospitals Dorset. Three of the deaths occurred on Saturday, February 13, while a single coronavirus-related death occurred on Sunday, February 14 and Monday, February 15.

It means since the start of the pandemic a total of 796 people have died with the virus in the county’s hospitals.

University Hospitals Dorset, which runs Royal Bournemouth Hospital and Poole Hospital, has confirmed 626 deaths with 100 at Dorset County Hospital and 70 at Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation.

14 more deaths were recorded in Dorset's hospitals on Tuesday, February 16.

A further 522 people, who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 80,115.

Patients were aged between 24 and 103 years old. All except 20 (aged 33 to 91 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

The date of death ranges from April 19, 2020, to February 16, 2021 with the majority on or after February 12.
