A ROAD at the bottom of Abbotsbury Hill will be closed for five days as part of major road works.
Cleverlawns in Abbotsbury, which leads down to the subtropical gardens and Chesil Beach, will be shut between 9am and 4pm from Monday, February 22 to Friday, February 26 to allow Dorset Council’s road maintenance workers to resurface the route.
The road closure covers the entire road up until it merges onto Buller’s Way, near to the temporarily closed Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens.
Dorset Council say there will be no access for pedestrians, and cars will not be able to park along the road. The road will be open overnight.
Anyone who ignores the road closure or park on the road will receive a fine and have their vehicle removed.
Cleverlawns is among the multiple roads being repaired by Dorset Council’s road maintenance workers across February.
Dorset Council is continuing to repair roads during the national coronavirus lockdown to repair road damage and keep key routes in good condition.
