A 'BRIDPORT Banksy' is spreading the message of kindness in the town.
Eddy Pearce, creator of the Bridport Lockdown project, noted on his social media pages how some graffiti, with the words 'Covid Hoax', had been displayed on a Bridport building since August. Mr Pearce stated that he has 'deep issues with anyone suggesting that this pandemic is a hoax'.
The graffiti was displayed on the side of a building on Flood Lane which is currently awaiting development.
After commenting on the message on Tuesday evening, Mr Pearce was pleasantly surprised to find the message on the building had been changed overnight, and by Wednesday morning now simply displayed the word 'kindness'.
Mr Pearce said: "I spotted the amendment on my bike ride this morning. It raised a smile and warmed my heart.
"It made me proud of the people of Bridport, and it felt very special to think that a shared photo of something so negative had prompted such a positive response.
"It appears there is a Bridport Banksy out there spreading kindness."
The Bridport Lockdown project began in April at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic and the first national lockdown. It was created to capture and archive stories from daily life in and around Bridport throughout the extraordinary year of 2020.
