A WATER refill station has been installed in Bridport this week - although it will not be in use until current restrictions are eased.
Wessex Water installed the refill point in Bucky Doo Square on Monday, January 18. It is scheduled to be activated once the current Covid-19 restrictions have been eased.
Wessex Water worked together with Bridport Town Council on the project in a bid to encourage people to drink more tap water and avoid the usage of single-use plastic bottles.
Kirsty Scarlett, Wessex Water’s head of community engagement, said: “The water refill point has been installed in a great location in Bridport to keep residents and visitors hydrated.
“This is just one of the many water refill points we will be installing across the region as part of our mission to reduce the number of single-use plastic bottles we all use.
“We are pleased to be able to work with so many local communities who share the same aim of promoting refill over landfill.”
The station will be cleaned, maintained and inspected regularly to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and water quality.
