I have always supported our, sometimes maligned, younger generation, after all they are the ones that are going to have to sort out all the injustices and cock-ups of my generation. I have to say that my experience on New Year’s Eve has only reinforced my opinion of today’s youth.
While cycling down St Swithins Road I hit some ice on a bend in the road and took a pretty hard tumble, landing on the side of my face.
Two young lads, Graham and Douglas (I believe) came to my assistance and offered to take me to hospital. I was unaware quite how bad my facial injury was and declined their offer, where upon they willingly walked with me to my brother’s house a short distance away.
I did go to hospital where I received excellent care from, the mostly young, medical staff. A CT scan showed multiple fractures that will require further treatment.
I am indebted to Graham and Douglas for their help, and indeed all the wonderful NHS staff, and would like to show my appreciation by making a donation to a charity of their choice, on their behalf, if they would like to contact me.
