We don’t blame you if you ‘re not venturing out at the moment as the weather has been gloomy and cold enough to chill the bones.

It’s a time of year to relax and unwind and also to look forward to a new year ahead – hopefully it’s going to be better than 2020!

Last week we showed you some pictures from James Loveridge’s 2021 calendar and this week we are delighted to present some images courtesy of west Dorset-based natural history photographer Colin Varndell.

Colin, who is best known for his evocative images of animals, birds, insects, wild flowers and landscapes, has also produced a calendar for 2021.

These beautiful pictures remind us how lucky we are to live in such a glorious part of the world. We are also grateful to Colin for going out and braving the elements throughout the year to document these scenes so we don’t have to!

Colin runs a picture library of nearly 250,00 images, which are used by UK and international media clients. His work is reproduced nationally and internationally in conservation journals, magazines, calendars, greetings cards, newspapers and is regularly used for advertising purposes.

He has won many categories in the International Garden Photographer of the Year competition, and has also won awards four times in the prestigious International Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition. Colin’s photographs have been reproduced in more than 40 books and are used regularly to promote the work of many conservation organisations.

His 2021 calendar is titled ‘Images of Dorset’ and comprises evocative landscapes from across the county, with emphasis in the west.

The calendar is available from Colin’s website at www.colinvarndell.co.uk or email Colin at shop@colinvarndell.co.uk
