A popular bowls event has raised £550 for charity.
Bridport Indoor Bowls Club held a charity target bowls event on February 23 in aid of Dorset County Hospital’s Chemotherapy Appeal.
Event organiser Kevon Rendell would like to thank all businesses and individuals who supported the event by giving raffle prizes or donations and to all the club members that took part.
The winning team was Clubs, which was made up of Peter Varney, Chris Thorner, Malcom Mackenzie, Cheryl Mackenzie, Brian Suffling, Christine Clarke, Tony Sharwood and Mike Craddock.
The £850,000 chemotherapy appeal will fund the complete redevelopment of the hospital’s existing chemotherapy unit, bringing facilities for chemotherapy patients up to the same standard now available to cancer outpatients and radiotherapy patients in the Robert White Centre.
The appeal will provide the best possible environment for patient care, with space for family and friends to sit with patients during treatment.
