A body has been found in the search for a man who went missing in the water off Freshwater.
The coastguard, RNLI, police and ambulance service were called to Freshwater, Burton Bradstock, at about 3pm on Sunday to a report of concern for welfare of a man in the water near to Freshwater Beach Holiday Park.
It is reported that the man, aged in his 20s, was walking along the beach with a woman when a wave swept them out to sea.
The woman made it back to shore and was treated by the ambulance service.
Officers carried out extensive searches, assisted by HM Coastguard, the RNLI, the NPAS helicopter and the ambulance service.
This morning, a body of a man was found on Hive beach.
While the body is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of the man who went missing near to Freshwater Beach Holiday Park.
His family has been informed and the coroner has also been notified.
