Members of Lyme Regis Town Council will consider whether to install a CCTV camera at the top of Broad Street at their meeting this Wednesday.
Councillors will also discuss whether the council should apply for grant funding of £6,000 for the link installation for Dorset Council’s CCTV project, which allows Dorset Police access to monitor the council’s CCTV system.
This is being considered due to break-ins and vandalism on Broad Street last Christmas, shoplifting, anti-social behaviour and the requirement of armed police in Broad Street recently.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 4 at the Guildhall from 7pm.
