A care home fete has raised a record-breaking £1,266 for charity.

Coneygar Lodge in Bridport held its annual event on August 10, despite a forecast of gale force winds, but organisers went ahead.

Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and friends donating prizes for the raffle and the support from visitors, the fete raised a record-breaking £1,266, £100 more than last year.

James Cross, director of Coneygar Lodge, said: “I am so proud of all the effort put in by the staff here to make this fete so successful and would particularly like to thank Leanne Bull and her family for putting an enormous effort towards the organisation.

“I would also like to thank everyone who donated prizes and all the visitors whose generosity for charity was amazing. It was lovely to see so much support for the day.”
