The Melplash Show welcomed thousands of visitors looking to enjoy a taste of country life this week.
The show proved as popular as ever and was packed with exhibits - including livestock, horses, home crafts and horticulture - and more than 400 trade stands and live shows.
But this T-shirt, displayed at the Young Farmers Club tent, has offended a showgoer who has questioned the message behind it - prompting an apology from the Melplash Agricultural Society.
The slogan on the T-shirt reads: 'Farmers - stopping vegetarians from taking over the world since the beginning of time.'
The showgoer said: "[It's] provocative, offensive and showing no awareness of environmental and ethical issues. Surely not a view that the show wants to support."
Dorset Young Farmers vice chairman, Matt Frampton, said the message on the T-shirt was voted for in a poll by members ahead of a junior activities and was not meant to cause offence.
"I'm surprised someone would be offended by them," he said. "One of our members is actually a vegetarian and they weren't offended by it."
Society chairman, Jo Sage, said: "The Melplash Agricultural Society is very sorry for any offence caused by the T-shirt displayed by the Young Farmers Club. We do not inspect each stand before the show starts and there were no complaints to the secretary during the day.
"These are young children from 12-years-old who are very sensitive about their farms and future livelihoods."
