THE Cancer Research UK shop in Bridport is asking people to help stock its shelves by donating unwanted or unfit Christmas presents.

Shop manager Pat Blake said: “At Christmas we all receive presents that aren’t quite what we had in mind. Some of us end up hiding these items away, rather than admitting that they were not what we would have chosen.

“By donating them to Cancer Research UK you can help raise money for a great cause and ease any guilt over an unloved gift – with the bonus of freeing up some room for the January sales.”

“Taking time to de-clutter is a sure way to feel fabulous at the start of any season, especially if you know that you’re making a donation to Cancer Research UK.”

Every contribution helps Cancer Research UK fund life saving research, as well as services such as information nurses who provide confidential support for anyone with concerns about cancer.

Particularly welcome donations include men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, as well as accessories, including shoes, belts, handbags and jewellery.

Donations of quality homeware are also needed, from cushions and crockery to linens. Books, CDs, DVDs, as well as mobile phones and used printer cartridges are also welcome.

For further information people can call the Cancer Research UK shop on 01308 421097, or take items to the shop at 9 East Street, Bridport.
