A LYME Regis based calligrapher whose work has appeared in Hollywood films will showcase her work at a Europe-wide exhibition.

Ros Pritchard has been a freelance calligrapher for 25 years.

Her work has been recognised by film producers worldwide and has appeared in films such as Pride and Prejudice, the Sherlock Holmes films and will also be seen in the new version of Far From the Madding Crowd.

The exhibition, entitled ‘26 Words’, is being organised by the Letter Exchange Society – a group for professional writers and those working in the letter industry – where she has been a member for ten years.

To celebrate the Letter Exchange’s 25th anniversary, they teamed up with another creative organisation called ‘26’ and invited their members to pair up and create a special piece of work which will be showcased at a celebratory exhibition.

Mrs Pritchard said: “The Letter Exchange is really good because, with this job, a lot of the time you work in isolation and it is nice to talk to other people who are in the same industry as you.

“For the exhibition, writers were paired up with artists to produce a piece of work on a letter of the alphabet. I was paired up with Dan Radley and we created a piece on the letter T and the word touchwood.”
