DORSET Fire Service was called to Freshwater Beach in Burton Bradstock earlier today (Tuesday, October 08) after a canister washed ashore.
A member of the public alerted fire fighters to the cannister and after arriving at the beach, they provided an over-sized drum to store the canister.
Once placed inside the drum they passed it over to the person responsible for clearing the beach, and the area was made safe at 4.15pm this afternoon.
