THE Bridport-based writer of Broadchurch could soon be bringing home another award to West Dorset.
The top rating ITV drama, starring David Tennant and Olivia Colman and set in West Bay is already in the running for a clutch of prizes.
Now Broadchurch, written by Chris Chibnall, has been nominated for the best TV Drama in the prestigious Writers’ Guild awards.
It is up against The Village and Silk, both written by Peter Moffatt.
And Broadchurch producer Richard Stokes, also produced Silk.
Chris Chibnall today tweeted that he was “very chuffed” to hear the news.
“It’s the Stokes’ Midas touch!” he added.
The Writers' Guild Awards will be presented in London on Wednesday November 13.
The series is also up for National Television Awards including best TV detective.
