A DRINK driver has been banned from driving for more than two years.

Kinga Sokol, of Yawl House, Uplyme, was more than three times over the legal limit when she was stopped by police on the night of June 2, 2013.

The police saw her drive her Mercedes car from The Cobb towards Woodroffe School and decided to pull her over after they noticed her driving had become erratic.

The roadside breath test came back as positive, so she was arrested and taken to Bridport custody.

Police also noticed there was front and rear end damage to the car.

Using a breathalyser, she was found to have 116 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.

At Weymouth Magistrates Court, she was fined £665 plus £85 costs and was banned from driving until October 18, 2015.

PC Richard Winward said: “Drink driving will not be tolerated in Lyme Regis. I am amazed that people still do it.

“A conviction and driving ban can have drastic consequences for employment and home life, as well as future insurance costs.

“Drink driving is one of the ‘fatal four’ offences, which include not wearing your seat belt, using mobile phones and other gadgets whilst driving and speeding.

“These will be enforced with enthusiasm.”
