Below are the list of the competition winners from the Bridport Hat Festival.
In the Best Ladies’ Hat competition, Margaret Genender came first and won the £50 first prize.
In the Best Man’s Hat competition, Guy Heathcote won and received the £50 prize.
Most Elegant couple went to Ronnie and Wendy Murray.
For the Best Boys’ hat, Oscar Pitt and his sandcastle hat came first, Theo Dunn and his racetrack hat came second and Kristian McCann and his army hat finished third.
The Girls’ Best Hat went to Iola Carter-Knibbes dressed as Spanish Maiden, Phoebe Winding and her swan hat came second and Hetty Earwicker came third.
In the Milliners and Hatters Open competition first prize went to Fiona Baker and her Sea and Waves hat, second prize went to Irina Dobrovolska and her Wind of History hat, and third went to Alison Nicholls with her Ashes 2013 cricket themed hat.
In the Bridport Hat-Hurling Challenge, Alice Catteau won the ladies’ competition, Rob Reeks won the Gents’s category and Ms C Birdsall won the children’s competition.
The Best Hatted Dog went to Mavis, owned by Teresa Verny, who was a ‘Bridport Terrier’ with her hat created by seven year old Betsy Brookes.
