ACTION men and women will be throwing themselves into the Kamikaze Banzai Charge at Beaminster in September.
Some 500 runners are expected to tackle the eight-mile cross-country course with obstacles engineered to test fitness, nerve and determination.
The sixth annual event is taking place on September 8 in the valleys around Mapperton Farm, Beamin-ster.
Kamikaze competitors will throw themselves down slides, across rope swings, into bogs, and rivers and over obstacles to become the ‘Banzai master’. All those successfully negotiating the Valley of Doom, the balance beam wet sponge throw, the Rope Tangle, the 8ft Tour of Grease and other obstacles will receive finishers medals. Event organiser Ben Mason, from Votwo Events and Adventure, said: “This event has built a reputation for being a muddy good day out.
“This year we have been busy creating an even more energy-sapping course to test the metal of returning Kamikaze warriors. “Previous competitors have described the kamikaze as ‘physically demanding but totally awesome at the same time’ and some said ‘the most fun they had ever had during a running event. “The spurs and valleys of Mapperton Farm present kamikaze runners incredible gradient challenges as well as phenomenal scenery to enjoy - for those who have the energy to take notice.
“We guarantee this event is an experience and a half.”
All competitors receive a Kamikaze headband to wear bearing their race number. Teams and individuals are welcome.
