Motorists faced 'significant traffic delays' after a vehicle caught fire on the A35.
The road was closed in both directions for around one hour, after the vehicle caught fire just after 11am this morning on the eastbound carriageway.
Two fire crews from Charmouth and Lyme Regis attended the scene near Morcombelake.
Police were also at the scene to help with the traffic flow, but the road was reopened a few hours after the fire, with traffic remaining slow.
Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said that 50 percent of the vehicle was damaged by the blaze, believed to have been caused by an electrical fault in the engine compartment.
