The ever popular ‘Lyme Lympics’ will be returning to Lyme Regis beach front tomorrow between 5pm and 8pm.

This year’s activities include something for both the young and old.

Children will be able to compete in a tug of war before attempting to defeat the rest in a six-legged race on skis.

There will be an old fossils electric buggy race for the adults, before the much anticipated ‘partner jousting, which will see one person sitting on someone’s shoulder, but with the lower half of the partnership blindfolded and disorientated.

A skateboard mackerel relay will entertain the bigger kids in the crowd, with the waiters race also making a return.

Blind football will also be featuring at this year’s games, with the teams given different sounding whistles to communicate with their team mates.

Hugh Dunford-Wood, who is organising this year’s games, said: “It is sure to be a lot of fun and we are really looking forward to it. We are hoping to better last year’s games, and everybody is welcome to join in.”

Anybody wishing to take part is urged to sign up on the day, by going to the volunteers with clipboards walking around the beach.
