A BROADCHURCH superfan from Lyme Regis has created an internet storm with her fan page for the television show.
Becca Overton has been overwhelmed by the response to her unofficial page on Facebook, which has notched up almost 13,000 ‘likes’.
The official ITV Broadchurch page has just over 1,000 in comparison, making Becca’s group the most popular place on Facebook for ‘Broadies’ to visit.
The 20-year-old posts pictures, quizzes, polls and video links, and fans from all over the world are joining in with discussions.
Becca, who is a big David Tennant fan, created the page before the series even started.
She said: “I heard about the filming and started the page.
“I create lots of fan pages for lots of different things so I thought I might as well set one up for Broadchurch and see what happens.
“I just set it up as a random thing, I wasn’t expecting it to kick off so well.
“As soon as the first couple of episodes started, that’s when it went bonkers.
“I have got a poll going on of who did it, I create lots of pictures, interacting with people, I did little quizzes, post pictures now and again and I try to go to West Bay at least once a week to take photos and try to promote West Bay.”
Becca has also set up a Twitter page, which has another 1,500 followers.
Her fan pages have even won the approval of the programme’s makers Kudos Productions and producer Richard Stokes.
Becca, who works at the Cottage Bakery in Lyme Regis, said: “Kelly, my sister, emailed ITV and said about the page I set up and they forwarded the email on to Kudos.
“They wrote on my wall giving me a thank you for the brilliant page and underneath Richard Stokes commented saying thank you. “Richard stokes is following the Twitter page and liked the Facebook page.
“I just can’t believe how much people have appreciated it.”
The Broadies on Becca’s page have been sharing their theories about who killed Danny Latimer and taking part in a poll ahead of the final episode on Monday.
The consensus seems to be Joe Miller, husband of Detective Sergeant Ellie Miller.
