STOKES Patrick Our very dearest Patrick Stokes died at home in the early hours of Christmas morning Our sadness is beyond measure Carina Emily, Simon, Lucian and Astrid Björn Saga, Kristoffer, Leo and Noah Robin The funeral will take place on Wednesday 17 January at 11am at Higher Ground Meadow, Hackney, Corscombe, Dorset DT2 0QN

Dunning Dunning January 14th, 2024
Patrick and I were cousins, both descended from brothers of Jane Austen, the novellist. When I engaged with the Austen community and joined the Jane Austen Society, Patrick was the first to welcome me and draw me in, introducing me to other descendants and researchers. From then, over more than twenty years, Patrick was always a friendly face, and he and Carina became good friends.
Patrick had reached the age of 80, but was an exemplar of the fact that 80 is the new 60. He was always on the ball, fit, and ready with a tease. He has been taken from us much too soon, and left a huge gap.
