ROADWORKS are due to go ahead in the coming weeks, with road closures and diversion routes in place.
A Bradpole road will be closed for up to two months, beginning today, in order for Dorset Council to carry out drainage works.
Roadworks are due to be carried out along Village Road and Fishweir Lane from today, Monday, January 11 and it is estimated that the closure will be in place until, Friday, March 12. Village Road will be closed from its junction with A3066 to the junction of Fishweir Lane and Fishweir Lane will be closed from its junction with Village Road.
A diversion route is in place, which will take drivers on a seven minute detour through Beaminster Road, Townsend Way and Mangerton Lane before turning back on to Village Road.
Due to a road closure in Burton Bradstock, a diversion route will be in place in the area from Monday, January 25 to Friday, January 29. The road will be closed to allow DK Eastment Groundworks Ltd safe access to carry out new sewer connection in the highway.
The roadworks will be taking place on Shipton Lane and those who usually travel through the road will have to follow a diversion route just short of four miles which will take drivers through Port Lane, Brook Street, Markets Lane, Bredy Lane and Annings Lane before returning them to Shipton Lane.
A section of Hembury Road in Askerswell will be closed whilst BT carries out an underground transfer of equipment from telephone poles.
The road will be closed between East Hembury Farm and Rocklea - a distance of around 100 metres - between Tuesday, January 19 and Thursday, January 21.
The diversion route which will be in place will only run for a mile and will go through Spyway Road and School Lane before returning to Hembury Road.
Locally signed diversion routes will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.
A West Milton road closure which has been in place since Wednesday, December 30 will remain closed until Tuesday, January 19. The unnamed road in near Leat Cottage has been closed to allow Dorset Council to carry out emergency works to reopen the highway following a landslip which had blocked the road.
