HOW lucky are we to live in such a stunning part of the world?

And we’re also fortunate to have talented local photographers like James Loveridge, who have made it their mission to capture the local landscape with such beautiful images.

Once again, James has compiled his best photographs of the year for a calendar which has been sold locally. His 2021 calendar has been so popular it sold out quickly – but we are delighted to be able to show you a section of the pictures here showing west Dorset at its finest.

James is an aerial, landscape and property photographer who first picked up photography as a hobby while studying at university.

He says: “I always had an interest in the geography and processes on the coast, but it wasn’t until then that I combined this with photography. I returned to Dorset to begin a job in marketing for a holiday company, which allowed me time to practice landscape photography on the Jurassic Coast in my spare time.

“I found the best way to attract people to visit Dorset was through high quality photography of the local area. From capturing the landscapes in Dorset, I soon developed this into aerial photography as well, due to the ability to create new and unique compositions and then into property and business photography, inspired by my love of marketing.

“I feel very privileged to have had my work recognised in competitions. I have had photographs published and used in various books, magazines, newspapers and news outlets.”
