DORSET Council has announced its revised collection dates for waste and recycling for Christmas and New Year period.
All dates up to, and including Christmas Eve, are unchanged but collection dates from Christmas Day until Friday, January 8, 2021, have been changed in line with the festive period.
Collections will be collected a day later than usual, but some dates will see waste taken on a later date.
Householders are being urged to take note of alternative collection dates to ensure their rubbish and recycling is collected.
The council has also offered to take two extra sacks or rubbish if they are placed next to the bin on the first collection day after Christmas Day.
Extra recycling will be collected if put in a box with glass kept separately.
The following dates are usual collection day, followed by revised collection day:
Thursday, December 24 - No change
Friday, December 25 - moves to Monday, December 28
Monday, December 28 - moves to Tuesday, December 29
Tuesday, December 29 - moves to Wednesday, December 30
Wednesday, December 30 - moves to Thursday, December 31
Thursday, December 31 - moves to Saturday, January 2
Friday, January 1 - moves to Monday, January 4
Monday, January 4 - moves to Tuesday, January 5
Tuesday, January 5 - moves to Wednesday, January 6
Wednesday, January 6 - moves to Thursday, January 7
Thursday, January 7 - moves to Friday, January 8
Friday, January 8 - moves to Saturday, January 9
Monday, January 11 - back to normal
Household recycling centres are open from 10am to 4pm daily, except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Foil or glittery wrapping paper cannot be recycled.
