Temp Closure of Furleigh Lane & Hingsdon Lane Netherbury

Temporary Closure of Furleigh Lane & Hingsdon Lane Netherbury

DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended.

All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along [A] Furleigh Lane from its junction with the B3162 at Furleigh Cross westward to the junction Hingsdon Lane, a distance of approximately 1,500 metes and [B] Hingsdon Lane from Hingsdon Farm northward and eastward to the junction with Saint James Road a distance of approximately 950 metres.

The Order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users.

It will come into operation for [A] on Tuesday 26 September to Wednesday 3 October 2012 and for [B] Monday 1 October to Friday 5 October 2012 a total period of 9 days between 08.00hrs & 17.00hrs each day weekday.The roads will be open at the weekends and only one road will be closed at any one time.

 But it will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary. This Order will enable Dorset County Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing works.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

The alternative routes, which will be sign posted, is as follows; [A] from the western end of the closure at the junction with the B3162 at Furleigh Cross proceed northward along the B3 62 to the junction with Lower Strode road at Bowood Cross.Turn right and continue eastward to the junction with Bungalow Lane at Emmanuel's Cross.Turn right and proceed southwest-ward along Bungalow Lane to the junction with Furleigh Lane and the eastern end of the closure.The reverse route applies. [B] from Hingsodn Farm proceed southward to the junction with Bungalow Lane, turn right and continue northwest-ward to Emmanuel's Cross proceed north-eastward along Whitecross, Neddys Close and Tower Hill in Netherbury.Turn right and continue southward along Chantry Street into The Square. Proceed southward along St James Road to the junction with Hingsdon Lane and the eastern end of the closure.The reverse route applies.
