Disabled Parking Bays

The County of Dorset (Anning Road, Lyme Regis) (Disabled Parking Bays) (No. ) Order 201’
Dorset County Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’) and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and the Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act. The effect of the Order will be to introduce a disabled parking bay outside No. 18 Anning Road, Lyme Regis.

Exemptions will permit waiting for picking up or setting down passengers, post office vehicles delivering and collecting mail, emergency service vehicles and vehicles in connection with any building or demolition operation, the maintenance of the road, the supply of gas, water or electricity and works to any telegraphic line.

This proposal is directly associated with ‘The County of Dorset (Various Roads in the District of West Dorset)(Consolidation of Orders made for the Regulation ofTraffific) Order 2009’ in that it is an amendment to that Order.

Full details of this proposal are contained in the Draft Order, which together with a plan showing the lengths of road affected and a statement of the County Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected from Monday to Friday during normal office hours at:-

2. introduce a disabled parking bay on the northern side of Orchard Avenue, Bridport outside No. 126 Orchard Avenue,

3. extend the existing disabled parking bay on the north-eastern of St Katherine’s Drive near its junction with St Andrew’s Road.

Temporary Closure of Hackney Corscombe

DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Hackney, Corscombe from the entrance to the reservoir southward to the junction with the A356 at Corscombe Cross, a distance of approximately 1,100 metre. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It came into operation on the 27 February 2012 for a period of 11 weeks. But it will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary. This Order will enable Wessex Water to install a new water main to Corscombe Reservoir.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE; The alternative route, which will be sign posted is as follows; from the northern end of the closure at the entrance to the reservoir proceed northward to the junction with High Street in Corscombe.Turn right and continue eastward along High Street and Fudge Hill to the junction with Court Hill.Turn right and proceed southward and south-westward to the junction with the A356.Turn right and continue north-westward to Corsocmbe Cross and the northern end of the closure. The reverse route applies.

For the duration of the closure access to Linhay Lodge will be maintained from one end of the closure or the other.
