NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR TRANSFER LICENCE
Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations
2006 that the Environment Agency is applying to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for a transfer licence to abstract water from the River Brit at SY 46365 93173, into
the Gundry Mill Channel, at Bridport, Dorset.
This is an existing transfer activity to which no changes are proposed. All water abstracted is returned to the River Brit at SY 46262 93028, 180 metres downstream. In normal conditions 10% of flow
is transferred. At times of higher flood flows transfer does not occur.
A copy of the application, map, plan and any other document submitted with it may be inspected free of charge at the address of the Environment Agency at Rivers House, Sunrise Business Park, Higher
Shaftesbury Road, Blandford Forum DT11 8ST during normal office hours (Mondays-Fridays, except bank holidays).
Summary details of the application are also available on the public register held at the Environment Agency at the above address.
Any person who wishes to make representations about the application must do so in writing, quoting reference number NPS/WR/008451 to the Environment Agency, at Water Resources Team, Permitting
Support Centre, Quadrant 2, 99 Parkway Avenue, Parkway Business Park, Sheffield, S9 4WF or by email to PSCWaterResources@ environment-agency.gov.uk no later than 14th March 2012.
After expiry of the period for representations, the Environment Agency will be entitled to the grant of a licence which authorises the proposal which shall deemed to be granted, unless the
Secretary of State, either in consequence of any representations made with respect to the proposal or otherwise, directs or requires an application to be made to them.
