DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL
Temporary Closure of White Sheet Hill Beaminster
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All
vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along White Sheet Hill Beaminster for distance of approximately 160 metres. The Order Notice is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety
Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on 30 January 2012 for 4 weeks. But it will
remain in force for 18 months and can be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.
This Order will enable Wessex Water to install a new mains supply.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE;
The alternative route, which will be sign posted, is as follows; from the northern end of the closure south of the entrance to White Sheet Farm proceed northward to the junction with the A356.Turn
right and continue south-eastward along the A356 to the crossroads at Toller Down Gate.Turn right and proceed south-westward along the B3163 Whitcombe Road to the junction with the A3066 in
Beaminster.Turn right and continue along the B3066 into The Square and the junction with North Street. Turn right and proceed north-eastward along North Street out of Beaminster to Stonecombe Farm
and the southern end of the closure.The reverse route applies.
Access to properties within the closure area will be available by arrangement with the site agent.
