Temporary Closure of Various Roads Pilsdon

Temporary Closure of Various Roads Pilsdon

DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along [A] New Barn Farm Lane, Pilsdon between its junctions with Batts Lane and Pilsdon Lane, a distance of approximately 70 metres. [B] Venn Lane, Pilsdon from its junction with Monkwood Lane westward for a distance of approximately 850 metre. [C] Yard Lane, Pilsdon from its junction with Venn Lane at Ham Corner, northward for a distance of approximately 150 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation as follows [A] 20 January and 23 & 24 January 2012 a period of 3 days between 09.00hrs to 16.30hrs each day. [B] & [C] 23 to 27 January and 30 January 2012 a total of 6 days between 09.00hrs to 16.30hrs each day. But it will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.

This Order will enable Dorset County Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing works.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

The alternative route for closure [A] above, which will be sign posted is as follows; from the western end of the closure at the junction with Batts Lane proceed northward along Batts Lane to the junction with Pilsdon Lane.Turn right and continue southward along Pilsdon Lane to the junction with New Barn Farm Lane and the eastern end of the closure. The reverse route applies.

The alternative route for closures [B] & [C] above, which will be sign posted is as follows; from the northern end of the closure of Yard Lane proceed northward along Yard Lane to the junction with Pilsdon Lane.Turn left and continue southward along Pilsdon Lane and Batts Lane to the junction at Sanom’s Cross.Turn left and proceed eastward passed Shave Cross Inn to the junction with Monkwood Lane at Dodge’s Orchard.Turn left and continue generally northward along Monkwood Lane to the junction with Venn Lane in Blackney and the eastern end of the closure. The reverse route applies.
