Between Charmouth & Lyme Regis

DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.All foot passengers will be prohibited from proceeding along the South West Coast Footpath between Charmouth and Lyme Regis, between grid references 3456 9330 to 3560 9339 and 3579 9331 to 3616 9317. a distance of approximately 2000 metres.The order is needed in order to comply with Health & Safety Regulations and to minimise the likelihood of any danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on the 28 November 2011 for a period of 26 weeks. But it will remain in force for 6 months and can be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for the Transport, if necessary.

This is an extension to an existing order that will end on the 27 November 2011. This continuation order is required in the interests of public safety due to a collapsed path and coastal erosion.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE

From the western end of closure in Lyme Regis at grid reference 3456 9330 proceed generally westward for approximately 120 metres to the junction with Timber Hill.Turn north and continue northward along the A3052 for approximately 100 metres and turn eastward at grid reference 3464 9377 and follow the route of the public footpath for approximately 700 metres to its junction with the A3052 at grid reference 3511 9411. Turn eastward and proceed for approximately 500 metres along the A3052 to the roundabout at the junction with the A35. Continue along the A3052 for approximately 700 metres into Charmouth and the junction with Higher Sea Lane.Turn right into Higher Sea Lane and proceed southward for approximately 600 metres to rejoin the coastal footpath. Proceed eastward along the footpath to the eastern end of the closure at grid reference 3616 9317.The reverse route applies.

Temporary Closure of Various Roads
Seaborough & Drimpton

DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended.All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along [A] Swilletts Lane for a distance of approximately 150 metres [B] Swilletts Farm Lane, for a distance of approximately 700 metre [C] Seaborough Court Road for a distance of approximately 350 metres [D] Seaborough Village Road for a distance of approximately 600 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation as follows [A] 29 November to 2 December 2011 a period of 4 days between 09.00hrs to 16.30hrs each day. [B]30 November to 2 December and again on 5 to 7 December 2011 a total of 5 days between 09.00hrs to 16.30hrs each day. [C]on the 2 December 2011 and again on 5 to 8 December 2011 a total of 5 days between 09.00hrs to 16.30hrs each day. [D] 5 to 8 December 2011 a period of 4 days between 09.00hrs to 16.30hrs each day. But it will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.

This Order will enable Dorset County Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing works.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

The alternative route for closure [A] above, which will be sign posted is as follows; from the southern end of the closure at the junction with B3162 Bridport Road proceed westward along the B3162 to the right hand junction.Turn right and continue eastward to the junction with Swilletts Lane and the northern end of the closure.The reverse route applies.

The alternative route for closure [B] above, which will be sign posted is as follows; from the southern end of the closure proceed southward to Pitman’s Grove.Turn right and continue westward to the junction with West Swilletts Road.Turn right and proceed northward Swilletts Farm Lane.Turn right and continue southward to the northern end of the closure.The reverse route applies.

The alternative route for closure [C] above, which will be sign posted is as follows; from the southern end of the closure at the junction with Seaborough Village Road proceed eastward along Seaborough Village Road then northward to Duck’s Field Crossing.Turn left and continue westward to Henley Cross.Turn left and proceed southward along Seaborogh Court Road to the northern end of the closure.The reverse route applies. The alternative route for closure [D] above, which will be sign posted is as follows; from the eastern end of the closure proceed northward to Duck’s Field Crossing.Turn left and continue westward to Henley Cross.Turn left and proceed southward along Seaborogh Court Road to the junction with Seaborough Village Road and the western end of the closure.The reverse route applies.

Only one closure will be in operation at any one time.
