DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL
Temporary Closure of B3164
Between Broadwindsor & Birdsmoorgate
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along the B3164 from West Mill House, Broadwindsor westward towards Templeman’s Ash a distance of approximately 4,000 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation Monday to Friday from the 17 to 21 October 2011 between 09.00hrs to 16.30hrs each day and again from the 24 to 28 October 2011 between 09.00hrs to 16.30hrs each day and again from the 31 October to 4 November 2011 between 09.00hrs to 16.30hrs each day, a total of 15 days. But it will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.
This Order will enable Dorset County Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing works.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE
The alternative route, which will be sign posted, is as follows; from the eastern end of the closure at West Mill House proceed eastward into the Square.Turn left onto the B3162 and continue northward through Drimpton and then westward to Horn Ash Cross.Turn left and proceed southward along the B3165 to the junction with the B3164 in Birdmoorsgate.Turn left and continue eastward along the B3165 to Templeman’s Ash and the western end of the closure.The reverse route applies.Access will be available by agreement with the site agent.
