NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State for Transport has made an Order on the A35 Trunk Road at Charmouth in the District of West Dorset in the County of Dorset, under
Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, because works are proposed to be executed on that road.
The effect of the Order is:

A3052 Charmouth Roundabout;
(b) to impose a 10 miles per hour speed limit overnight (between 8.00 pm and 6.00 am) while convoy working is taking place on the A35 Trunk Road over the same length as described
at (a) above;
(c) to authorise the overnight closure (between 8.00 pm and 6.00 am) of the westbound carriageway of the A35 Trunk Road over the same length as described at (a) above.
These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors carry out carriageway repairs, resurfacing and maintenance works.
The restrictions do not apply to emergency service or special forces vehicles.
The Order came into force on 16 September 2011 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
During the overnight closure described at (c) above, westbound traffic will be diverted from the A35 through Charmouth via Axminster Road to rejoin the A35 at the A3052 Charmouth Roundabout.
The temporary mandatory speed restrictions, carriageway closure, convoy working and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works period and will only apply when
traffic management measures are in place. Ref: 0099/11
