Temporary Closure of Lime Hill
South Poorton Bridport
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Lime Hill, South Poorton from just south of the entrance to Bottom Farm southward for a distance of approximately 60 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on the 26 September 2011 for a period of 2 weeks. But it will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.
This Order will enable Dorset County Council to install gabion walling to retain the edge of the carriageway.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE;
The alternative route, which will be sign posted, is as follows; from the northern end of the closure proceed northward to the junction with Ridgeback Lane.Turn left and continue southwest-ward along Ridgeback Lane to Lancombes and southward to the junction at Spickhatch in West Milton.Turn left and proceed eastward through West Milton and along Milton Lane to Merriott crossroads.Turn left and continue northward along School Lane through Powerstock and proceed northward along Dugberry Hill and Lime Hill to the southern end of the closure a point approximately 60 metres south of the entrance to Bottom Farm.The reverse route applies.
