DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL - Temporary Closure of Public Footpath 12, Marshwood

DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL
Temporary Closure of
Public Footpath 12, Marshwood
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All foot passengers will be prohibited from proceeding along footpath 12 Marshwood, from grid reference SY 4245 9952 to grid reference SY 4232 9957, a distance of approximately 150 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe passage around a slurry lagoon constructed on the route of footpath 12. It came into operation on the 1 August 2011 for a period of 26 weeks. But it will remain in force for 6 months and can be, extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary. The Order is required while a legal diversion order of the above path is processed.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE; The alternative route which will be sign posted is as follows; from grid reference SY 4245 9952 proceed south westward for approximately 150 metres to grid reference SY 4231 9946 to exit onto Yard Lane by the farm access track.The reverse route applies.

DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. All foot passengers will be prohibited from proceeding along footpath 12 Bridport, from grid reference SY 4735 9305 to grid reference SY 4737 9308, a distance of approximately 50 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It came into operation on the 1 August 2011 for a period of 6 weeks. But it will remain in force for 6 months and can be, extended, with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary. The Order is required to allow the Environment Agency to carry out repairs to flood control structures.
