IN THE closing match of the season, Bridport Ladies showcased their dominance with a commanding performance, beating Wincanton Town Ladies 6-0 in the Somerset Women's League.

Despite Wincanton starting positively and posing threats to Bridport's defence early on, it was the Bees who seized the initiative.

In the sixth minute, Sophie Rodley came close to scoring from a teasing cross, setting the tone, and it was Aleeshea Rowland who broke the deadlock, capitalizing on a run through the Wincanton back line to open the scoring.

As the game progressed, Bridport's dominance became increasingly evident.

Rodley added to the tally with a well-taken goal in the 25th minute, followed by Rowland securing her second goal of the match in the 35th minute and completing her hat-trick just before half-time.

With a commanding lead of 4-0, Bridport maintained their momentum in the second half.

Georgie Hughes extended the lead with a long-distance shot from outside the box in the 57th minute, leaving the Wincanton goalkeeper unable to collect.

Florence Valinski further solidified Bridport's advantage with a sixth goal in the 68th minute, showcasing the team's control over proceedings.

With Bridport enjoying much of the possession and looking comfortable for the win, they successfully kept a clean sheet to secure a comprehensive victory.

The final scoreline reflected Bridport's stellar performance in the season finale and secured Bridport Ladies a commendable third-place finish in the standings.

Manager Lianne Dunk expressed her satisfaction with the team's performance throughout the season, praising their dedication and hard work.
