A person was taken to hospital after a vehicle caught fire.
Firefighters from Bridport Fire station were called to West Road in Bridport following reports of a vehicle fire yesterday evening.
The fire was extinguished using hose reel jets and two firefighters also wore breathing apparatus.
Police were also at the scene.
A person was treated for smoke inhalation and then transported to hospital by family members.
A spokesperson for Bridport Fire Station: "At 10.15pm on Monday, June 17, one pump was mobilised to a vehicle fire in West Road.
"Crews used two breathing apparatus wearers and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
"One casualty was treated for smoke inhalation and then transported to hospital by family members for onward care."
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said : "We received a report at 10.20pm on Monday June 17 of a car on fire on the A35 West Road near to the junction with Symondsbury in Bridport.
"Officers attended to assist the fire service."
