A man has died on a beach in west Dorset following a medical emergency.
Dorset Police were called to a man requiring medical assistance at Hive Beach in Burton Bradstock at around 5pm on Wednesday evening.
Police were joined by paramedics, coastguards and the air ambulance at the scene.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin has been informed.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and the coroner has been notified.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "Dorset Police received a report at around 5pm on Wednesday 6 September 2023 of a man requiring medical assistance at Hive Beach in Burton Bradstock.
"Officers attended and assisted the ambulance service with clearing the beach. Very sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"His next of kin has been informed.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and the coroner has been notified."
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 16.46hrs on Wednesday 6 September to an incident near Bridport.
"The resources we sent included two double-crewed land ambulances, an operations officer and an air ambulance.”
