Firefighters were called to Moor Lane in Briantspuddle last night to extinguish a car fire.
The incident happened just after 8pm.
A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “One crew from Bere Regis attended and two breathing apparatus wearers used two-hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze.
“Our stop message came at 8.31pm and we left the scene with the police as it wasn’t clear who the car belonged to or how it came to be on fire.”
A video shows firefighters forcing open the car door.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said they were called to the incident at 8.10pm.
He added: "Officers attended along with the fire service and road closures were put in place. The fire service extinguished the fire and recovery for the vehicle was arranged.
