A scheme preventing pens going to landfill continues to grow.
Large collections have been picked up for Bridport Pen Recycle from the library recently, with schools also now getting involved.
Bridport Primary School made its first collection this month and staff and pupils have set up a permanent box for ongoing recycling of all pens and writing instruments.
Symondsbury Primary School is also taking part, but if other schools and businesses would like to take part, contact bridportpenrecycle@gmail.com
A spokesman for the collection said: “Thank you to everyone who has contributed.
“It may seem like the tip of the iceberg, but don’t let that stop us from taking each small step, as collectively they can make a difference.”
All these pens are sent - via Damers School in Poundbury - to Terracycle for recycling and can be turned into things such as park benches and watering cans.
