Members of the public and firefighters managed to stop a tractor fire spreading to a nearby barn.
A water tanker from Bridport joined two crews from Dorchester Fire Station to tackle a tractor fire at Higher Norris Mill, Bockhampton, this morning (Tuesday) just after 11.15am.
A crew from Bridport was also tasked with standby duties at the Dorchester station.
A spokesman for Dorchester Fire Station said: “Upon arrival the tractor was well alight with the owner and others gallantly throwing buckets of water to stop the fire progressing or spreading to a nearby barn.
“Crews got to work and extinguished the fire using hose reel jets and a stop was put in for this incident at around 11.55am.”
